Vancouver Main Public Library – More than just Books

Those of you who watch or have watched any of the TV shows or movies shot in Vancouver (Deadpool, Riverdale, Continuum, The Flash, Supergirl, Travellers, Arrow, and many more) have probably seen this building in some of the shots.

Library Square, comprised of the Central Library branch, the Federal  office tower and retail and service facilities occupies an entire city block. The development is unified by an enclosed concourse formed by an elliptical wall. Construction occurred between 1993 and 1995. In 2018, a $15.5 million renovation expanded level 9 and added an 8,000 square foot rooftop garden.

We had often walked by or through the library, without stopping in. On this day, we were headed to have a look at the new rooftop garden and the views presented by it.
