Regular readers may have seen this building before. It is one of the places my beloved lived in as a child and with her 87 year old father staying with us, it was time for a homecoming. The place has quite a history, as the plaque below will attest to.
I’ve been here for longer than you’ll know,
some wear and tear is starting to show.
My halls once filled with childish laughter,
are silent now for ever after.
No more footfalls on my wooden stairs,
I must admit I often despair.
But, I’ve stood proud for so many years,
sharing laughter, joy, love, pain and tears.
My time on earth may to you seem long,
but I’ll always know where I belong.
