Jasper – Overlander Trail

We are going to file this hike away for a later date. It was late in the day when we started a steep climb up from Highway 16 East of the Snaring Campground turnoff. Frankly, we did not know what we were getting into and we were already hot, sticky and tired. Nonetheless, we hiked up the steep trail for about a kilometer before agreeing it was not fun. Upon further research, this trail is apparently 15.5 km long and takes 5-6 hours to hike. If you start at the other end near 6th bridge on Maligne Canyon, the climb is not nearly so steep and you can turn back at any point.

    1. I hear ya. With us, it is kinda like taking one last run down the ski hill at the end of the day when you know you shouldn’t. In the heat and bugs, not worth the effort, but, we will be back. Thanks for reading and your thoughts. Allan
